Advertising is the main way that businesses reach their audiences
Absolute Graphix designs advertising for all manner of media including local and national newspapers, magazines, printed flyers and leaflets, and online. Our skilled design studio provides amazing ad designs which you'll love. But there is far more to advertising than just the graphic design element. The design is very important - the ad must look good, it must be well balanced and suitable for the audience it is trying to reach, and it has to look professional in order to inspire confidence in the potential customer - but there's more to consider than just the layout. Advertising is part of your overall marketing strategy and as such it is a component of your marketing toolbox. In other words, the design needs to be executed with a sound understanding of marketing and the techniques that make adverts work.
Good advertising - the "trade secrets"
Advertising normally performs two main tasks - (i) increase awareness of your company / product / service and (ii) generate a response. The awareness is developed in several ways, through such means as consistent branding, catchy headlines, attractive images, and suitable information in the copy. The response that is generated is often assisted by what advertisers refer to as the "call to action". This is any message or slogan that instructs the viewer to do something, such as "CALL TODAY", "VISIT OUR WEBSITE", "RETURN THIS COUPON", "HURRY WHILE STOCKS LAST" and so on.
Furthermore, the most effective adverts describe the benefits of using the product or service rather than how great the company is. For example, saying "We're the best at installing bathrooms" is a reasonable line of marketing copy but is less likely to attract a sale than "Your bathroom will be luxurious and cost you less". By keeping a focus on the benefits, you are tapping into your potential customer's desires in a far more meaningful way than simply telling them how good you are at your job. But you can say how good you are too, as this also inspires a feeling of confidence.
There are many ways that you can describe the benefits of what you are offering. Some of the obvious things include lower prices than your competitors (hence saving money is a benefit), better quality goods, or a unique feature that nobody else can offer. But you can also delve into more personal and political matters such as "helps learning and development", "better for the environment", "good for your health and digestion", and so on. You can also use "temptation" as a benefit - "Buy one get one free" is the classic temptation! "Free with every purchase..." is another.
Testimonials are also a proven way to help increase sales. Showing what other buyers have said is a good confidence-building method, and often generates a good response.
